Daniel McFarlane offers tuition in piano, theory and composition. Lessons are available at his private studio at Wavell Heights. Rates for 2011 are:

The over-riding goal of Daniel's tuition is to create a meaningful and rewarding connection between a student and the music that they play. Great emphasis is placed on providing skills that will stay with the student and benefit them long after formal lessons have ended. Whilst exams and other formal means of grading students are important, Daniel recognises that not all students respond to a purely traditional approach and lessons are tailored to their individual tastes and goals.

exams

Daniel prepares students for exams through the St. Cecilia and AMEB examination boards. Practical piano, theory and teaching exams are offered. Students regularly achieve high marks and Daniel has successfully prepared students for Associate Diploma exams through both examining boards. Preparation for senior Music Extension is also offered.

concerts and competitions

Each year students participate in an end of year Gala Concert. For the last eight years this has been held at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. Regular concerts are also held at Daniel's studio. Students also compete very successfully in local eisteddfods and competitions including the Brisbane, Ipswich, Redlands and Enoggera Eisteddfods and the Bernstein Competition.
